Nexon today announced that it will reorganize its salary system significantly to “strengthen global competitiveness through the company’s continuous growth strategy and securing outstanding talent.” Starting this year, the annual salary of new employees will be increased to 50 million Korean Won (around 45,000 USD) for development staff and 45 million Korean Won (around 40,000 USD) for non-development employees.
This is a really significant increment, as according to a government survey, the average annual salary for a fresh graduate starting work in a company with 500 or more employees is just around 30,000 USD in November 2020. To align with the new policy, existing Nexon employees will also see a higher salary increment, with the average said to be around 13%.
According to the company CEO, Nexon “believes that securing and investing in excellent talents in the present and future is one of the key strategies for sustainable growth, and will provide practical and diverse support to ensure the highest level of annual salary and improve the quality of life.”
