Korean developer Floppy Games recently announced it has acquired an investment of 10 billion Korean Won (around 9 million USD), although did not specify which investors were involved. Founded in 2014 by employees from Eyedentity Games who worked on Dragon Nest and Dungeon Strikers, the investment will fund the development of Project-C, a fantasy MMORPG with cartoon rendered graphics scheduled to launch globally in 2022.
Floppy Games previously developed 2 mobile titles which some readers might find familiar. The first is Yokai Saga published by Netmarble, which subsequently was renamed to Phantom Chaser and self-published by Floppy Games. The second game is Xross Chronicle published by LINE Games. Both games’ servers have since been closed, and it seems that there are no new games from Floppy Games in 2021.
