Following the announcement on the closure of Dragon’s Prophet in Taiwan, developer Runewaker has also confirmed the upcoming closure of Runes of Magic’s original Taiwan server. Launched back in 2009, the game closes on 3 September, just nearly 2 months shy off its 10th anniversary. We did remember that Runes of magic was one of the earliest Free-to-Play alternatives to the subscription-based World of Warcraft back in the days. The English server of Runes of Magic, under Gameforge, is still running, but do try it out when the game is still around right now. Runes of Magic will definitely be part of gaming history.
