By now, most of you would have read from various media websites about Electronic Arts (EA) announcing it is laying off 350 employees, with most of them coming from marketing, publishing, and operations. Around 99% of such massive layoffs in big corporations are linked to improving profits, and the usual reasons given to the press include “corporate restructuring” and other bull shit. Electronic Arts’ CEO Andrew Wilson has gone a step further, claiming this layoff will “better deliver on our commitments” and “meet the needs of our players“. If you believe in his words, you are part of the overall problem as well.
