During its recent financial call, NCsoft confirmed the development of its Unreal Engine 4 PC online shooter, Project AMP, has ceased. Although no time was given on when the closure happen, NCsoft was first spotted hiring new employees for the project back in December 2015. There were around 50 employees working on Project AMP, and all of them have been reassigned to other projects.
According to an unconfirmed source, NCsoft was ready to commit a sizable budget to develop Project AMP. However, during internal testings, the company was neither convinced nor satisfied. There were also not enough unique selling points for Project AMP when doing market comparisons with the competition. NCsoft also previously halted developed on another Unreal Engine 4 title, Project HON.
