An interesting fact, Perfect World China has never published nor develop a shooter game for its domestic market since its founding in 2004. Today, the company announced its first ever Chinese online shooter, roughly translated as Phantom Assault. The game is developed by South Korean studio Dream Execution, perhaps for famous for its other Free-to-Play game of the same genre, War Rock.
It seems Phantom Assault was originally known as MAZE The Treasure Hunters, announced back in 2012 by China publisher ChangYou. The deal apparently did not pan out, and Perfect World jumped on as the new publisher, but not before removing the PVE elements (the traps are still there). I would love to have a Tomb Raider type of MMO, but the game now is just another online shooter.
