Earlier this year, Valve and domestic publisher Perfect World held the Shanghai Major 2016 at a grand 31,000-seat stadium, thought the whole event was littered with humourous and frustrating human errors which can be further read here and here. Just a few hours ago, Perfect World sent an internal email (below) announcing certain operation teams will be re-structured, including Dota 2’s.
The very-public issues made a laughing stock out of Valve and Perfect World, forcing both CEOs to make apologies. According to the restructuring, Dota 2 in China will now be helmed by Vice-President Li-Ming Gu, while there was no mention of former handler, the very flamboyant Yu-Min Wang. Still, the damage is done, and Dota 2 fans will have to hope the Manila Major will be a good show.
