Earlier today, Nexon introduced brand new pet system along with new high-level dungeons to MapleStory 2. There are currently just 3 pets, which are the Penguin (coincidentally the mascot for Tencent), dog, and dragon. Other than giving their owners a 5% move speed boost, there are other skills such as character revive, picking up items, and adding 5 points to physical and magic attack.
There is also a new final boss, Barkhant the “God of Darkness”. It is a 10-man dungeon, with a minimum of level 50 to enter. Seems like he will be a really tough ass to crack. He will only drop the best defense items, as another boss, roughly translated as Demon King Bat, will drop the materials to craft the best new “Indestructible” series of weapons.
