Neowiz Games yesterday launched its new online game, Asker: The Light Swallowers, in South Korea. Developed by internal studio Neowiz CRS, it was reported the game crashed at launch and had to undergo hours of maintenance, apparently caused by an influx of players. Asker launched with a level 40 cap, over 70 instanced dungeons, and 130 monsters. It has only been signed to China.
Asker is a non-target action MMORPG, very much similar to Nexon’s Mabinogi Heroes, with instanced dungeons as the main battlefield, along with active dodging and skill casting. Players work under an organization known as “Black Sheep” and carry out its tasks. Recently, it was announced Asker will be compatible with the virtual reality (VR) headset, Oculus Rift, developed by Oculus VR.
