Announced back in April, developer Pearl Abyss and publisher Daum Games have revealed the next huge update for Black Desert, Valencia: The Golden Age. Arriving 23 July for the South Korea server, right after the massive server merge, Valencia is the fifth and most eastern city on the world map of Black Desert. In fact, it is the last place before the original world map needs to be expanded.
Located in the harsh desert, the scenery around Valencia will be mostly those of the golden sands and dry lands, though water sources nearby makes sure the settlers could farm and build an irrigation system. Black Crystals, powerful materials of various uses, can be found in the desert here (Black Desert, get it?). Valencia is at war with Calpheon, located across a great river on the West.
The size of Valencia, including the desert, is around the same size of the western continent, which holds four major cities. Pearl Abyss will not be launching all areas of Valencia in one update, but will gradually open up more areas located in the region. From what I see, Valencia will be the new high level area for players, with the desert and ruins housing some pretty bad-ass looking monsters…
