Blizzard Entertainment has announced it will be operating the Taiwan server (including Hong Kong and Macau) starting from 1 July, after getting the rights back from former publisher, GameFirst (under Gameflier). It was a mutual decision, with Blizzard looking to expand its office and manpower in Taiwan. GameFirst will continue to help Blizzard sell its physical boxed games.
There will be no significant changes made, as all player data will be preserved and shifted to Blizzard’s data center. Blizzard had already make its presence felt in Taiwan earlier this year by setting up a brand new customer service center. The global developer is currently operating Diablo III, StarCraft II, Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.
