NCsoft, which recently revealed its financials for Q1 2015, has officially ceased the development of Project HON. Developed using Unreal Engine 4, Project HON was first showcased at G-Star 2014 as a PVP-intense mecha shooter, with a mobile version allowing cross-platform interaction. The game was one of the centerpieces during G-Star 2014 with around 100 demo stations for attendees.
Recently, a staff on the Project HON team was arrested for embezzling funds meant for the game’s development. The reason given by NCsoft for stopping the game is the usual “due to recent market conditions”. The dismantled team will be re-assigned to other projects, and the company’s focus is now turned to Lineage Eternal, with a small test phase scheduled to start next month.
