[Source] In a media conference held earlier today in South Korea, Nexon announced MapleStory 2 will be launching on 7 July local time, at 7:00PM (7-7-7 is deliberate). Note that this is just for South Korea, not a global release. Instead of having an Open Beta phase, it will indeed be a full launch with players able to download the client right now, and create their characters from 29 May onwards.
The director of MapleStory 2, Kim Jin Man, talked to the host of the event for a bit. They talked about how the game focused on having fun with others. Another big point was that the MapleStory 2 team is putting a lot of emphasis on the users’ point of view so they can make the best game possible! This is possibly referring to the sandbox features, where players can make their own content.
Following the launch, the level cap will increase to 40 in July, followed by 50 in August. Nexon also mentioned a live event in South Korea, People who attend will be able to watch a new cinematic trailer, see information about future updates, talk to the development team, and even have a chance to win a MapleStory 2 computer!
