Closed Beta 1 for MapleStory 2 has ended, I happened to chance upon an interesting piece of news in the Korean forums. You see, MapleStory 2’s character customization system offers a high degree of freedom, and a certain player had been creating character(s) which were deemed “grotesque” and “unsuitable” by the team at Nexon Korea. To protect the younger players lingering in MapleStory 2, the player was unceremoniously banned.
Seen here is apparently one of the player’s characters (or the only one, which I am not really sure). Nexon Korea even posted an official announcement regarding this issue on the MapleStory 2 official website, sending a message that the game shall remain suitable for all ages with “protection” given to the younger players. I am not really sure what to make out of this issue, but it is certainly amusing. Will this affect other regions in the future?
