At a recent games conference, Nexon CEO Owen Mahoney claims that “a game lives and dies by its fun factor”, a motto which the company is sticking with. He also lamented about the business focus on MAU (monthly active users) and ARPU (average revenue per user), combined with a lack of development creativity.
Nexon America is looking to change that, with the gaming giant setting up a new arm, Nexon XP, for the western market. Nexon XP will deal solely with the western developers Nexon bought over or invested over the past few years, aiming to provide content gamers in the region will like, rather than translating Korean ones.
