[Game website] After a successful run since the Open Beta phase over a year ago, developer Hi-Rez Studios announced the first Smite World Championship. Coming this January with a base 600,000 USD prize pool, teams from North America, Asia, Europe and South America will battle it out for the prize.
While not on the scale of League of Legends or Dota 2, the China server still gaining popularity under Tencent Games. Interestingly, Smite has yet to penetrate the holy land of competitive sports, South Korea. The prize pool will increase via future community contributions and exclusive content sales.
