After going off the radar for a couple of months, Monster Hunter Online started its Extreme Test Phase in China yesterday. Co-developed by Capcom and Tencent Games using CryEngine, several new features were added along with a list of over 10 game optimizations.
As part of the deal signed between Capcom and Tencent Games, Monster Hunter Online is being developed from scratch, and players can expect to see new monsters unique and exclusive to this game. 1 example is the Chramine, seen in the official video below.
Added in the previous test phase, the lovable first-generation Lynians (cats) can be seen following players around as well. They are not there as passive pets, but do help players with daily routines. Monster Hunter Online is currently signed only to China, with no news of a potential overseas server.
