[Source] Also known as version 2.1, A Realm Awoken will see tons of new content added to the world of Final Fantasy XIV. Japanese game website Famitsu had an exclusive interview with the ever-casual Yoshi-P recently, and he apparently confirmed the game is heading to Steam.
Yoshi-P joked about having it rushed out after Famitsu pointed that it looks very different from the original. Yoshi-P stated that the design is deliberate, as the atmosphere will be getting intense with the upcoming storyline. It is also designed to “look something like logo of foreign rock band of the 1990s”.
Version 2.1, A Realm Awoken, will be hitting the official servers on 17th December (depending on your timezone). More detailed information can be found at the source. Yes, it is still pay-to-play, but it is perhaps the most worthy title to do so now.
