After the failure of RIFT Korea, I am really surprised CJ E&M is picking up a Western title again. Developed by Virtual Toys, a company based in Spain, Pirates will be starting its beta phase first in Korea, some time early next year. This game was revealed over at G-Star’s business hall.
As you can see, Pirates resembles pretty much like a MOBA (term used by reports), with multiple heroes for choosing and various small maps to battle on. I am not really sure what each mode does, but it looks kind of cool to have different map styles for the same mode.
CJ E&M is 1 of the big Korean companies currently without a MOBA title, and I can certainly understand why they decided to take the plunge with Pirates. I have tried Strife and it was not really bad, perhaps there is already a Korean publisher lined up for the title…
