The 3rd new boss was revealed recently, and it is a classic monster which made it first appearance in Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (2007). The Daimyo Hermitaur’s most significant trait is the giant skull on it back, providing supreme defense for its weaker back area.
In Monster Hunter Online, the Daimyo Hermitaur can be found residing in a swamp, where part of the storyline mystery is how this creature wandered here from the favored desert environment. How did it obtain a Monoblos (another monster) skull as its back “shield”?
The Daimyo Hermitaur is a formidable boss, with poison stream attacks which will also knock targets back. Other attacks include the ability to dig underground and launch a sudden attack, while also utilizing the giant horn on its back skull to strike enemies as well.
