In the latest financial report for Q2 2013, Nexon revealed that the premier online games publisher and developer suffered a 5% decrease in year-on-year revenue, or a massive decrease in 23% on a constant currency basis. With that, Nexon has invested more in local developers.
It seems that Nexon will be scaling back on bringing Korean games over to the English market, while promoting more games developed in the West. Perhaps the closure of Dungeon Fighter Online due to lack of players hurt Nexon, with the company forgetting about the IP block…
I guess Nexon felt that the English gamers are isolating them, but from what I know, it seems players felt Nexon was the one isolating them in the first place with lack of communication, game updates and marketing. Will the game from the English studios score a jackpot for Nexon? We shall see..
