Just as a large group of players are cheering for the decision for Blade & Soul China to go Free-to-Play with just cosmetic items being sold, here comes the usual aftermath surprise. Yes, publisher Tencent Games revealed that a currency trading system will be implemented in the game.
Basically, players can sell in-game gold for binded cash shop points. This function is cross-server, so players from all servers (within the same region) will share the system. The seller will be charged a 5% transaction fee from his binded cash points.
Step 1 – Player A sells 100 gold for 10,000 cash points.
Step 2 – Player B pays 10,000 cash points for the 100 gold.
Step 3 – Player A receives 9,500 binded cash points after 5% deducted.
Step 4 – Player B receives 100 gold.
To be clear, there are 2 types of cash points:
1. Binded cash points – Can only be used within servers of the same region, csh items bought by binded cash points cannot be gifted amongst some restrictions.
2. Normal cash points – Can be used for all servers from any region
The average trading price will be updated at regular intervals for folks who are more economically-savvy. This gold trading system is implemented to prevent 3rd party gold sellers from “destroying the economy”, as stated in the article.
