Earlier, SEGA revealed information for the next episodic “expansion” to Phantasy Star Online 2. Known as Episode 2, it launches July 17th, 2013 and players will see a new race, new weapon category, and a new planet. The whole update will be seperated into 3 parts to be completed in December.
The new race, Dewman, play on the offensive side with high attack power but low defense. The two physical features that separate Dewmans from other races are their separate eye colors and horns.
Whereas females have two horns, males only have one. Since existing PSO2 characters cannot be converted into a Dewman, each player will receive a free character slot accompanying the expansion.
The Braver class will see two new weapon categories, “Katanas” and “Bullet Bows.” Katanas are close-range weapons that can perform counterattacks by just guarding your opponent. Bullet Bows on the other hand are ranged weapons that can perform charged attacks.
After the battle with Dark Falz, came the discovery of a new planet deluged in water known as Wopal. Scattered across the shores are strange facilities that are still in operation to this day.
This field will introduce two new types of enemies, bird-like Darkers, and Neptunian creatures whose attack patterns change based on the time of day.
Bal Rodus is the new boss, and its fighting arena is set inside a giant whirlpool. There are several devices on deck that can be used for long range attacks or to reel him in.
