As the world’s 4th largest gaming company now, China’s Tencent Games is no doubt closely followed by the industry all over the world. The company’s annual press conference will be held later this month, and amongst the many rumors, the one which stood out is Monster Hunter Online.
From a confidential document which I was prior, Monster Hunter Frontier is indeed on the to-come list. But the game is 5 years old now, and the rumors are pointing that the new Monster Hunter Online is developed internally at Tencent, with cooperation from IP owner Capcom.
Whichever the case is, a reveal of a new Monster Hunter MMORPG seems not far away. The Japanese server is getting a hefty update later this month as well, known as Monster Hunter Frontier G. A coincidence?
