With the North America and Europe publishers already confirmed a few months back, Dragon’s Prophet will finally enter Closed Beta in its native Taiwan on 13th March. Trailers for the classes were revealed, as seen in the merged version below.
Developed by Runewaker Entertainment, creator of Runes of Magic, this 2nd game is fundamentally different, since it uses action combat. Having played the in the Alpha test, I can say that the combat is leaning towards that of TERA’s, rather than Dragon Nest or Vindictus.
In the game, dragons are categorized in to 8 different types, and they can be captured and trained to be come mounts/ pets, with their own skill trees to learn upon leveling. While this system is no doubt the main feature, other staples such as guild PvP, raid dungeons, player housing etc will all be available.
I will certainly be giving Dragon’s Prophet another try, since the previous Alpha test seems like a horror story with all the lag and unvoiced cinematic dialogues. Hopefully, I will also look beyond the rather static “action combat” this time round.
