While just a short description, developer PearlAbyss just revealed that Black Desert will see monsters attacking villages/ towns “sometimes”. If the defense of the locations fail, the NPCs’ services will unavailable. This will last until the location is reclaimed by the players.
Black Desert is currently scheduled for Closed Beta in South Korea in July, with a western publisher currently being looked at. More information can be found in my interview with PearlAbyss.
