Just a couple of hours ago, Disney Interactive officially signed a contract with Korean developer, Smilegate, for the development of a MOBA title based on Marvel characters. If you do not know, MOBA means Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, a term coined by Riot Games, developer of League of Legends.
Codenamed as Project PK (or PK Project), this Marvel MOBA is currently targeted just at Asia (similar to Call of Duty Online), with a scheduled release set in 2014. Seen below is TQ Jefferson, VP of Game Production Rob Steffens, GM of Marvel Studios. Smilegate’s most successful title so far is CrossFire, the top FPS in China.
