Yes, you read it right. Project MC is a new in-development online game from the formal core development staff of Nexon’s Dungeon Fighter Online. In fact, they were also the first few who worked on Cyphers .
And no, MC does not mean “medical certificate”, but rather “massive creativity”. This new development studio is call A.Storm.
The founder actually joined Neople (creators of DNF and Cyphers) back in 2002, before venturing out on his own in March 2010. A.Storm was formed in January 2011, pooling together some of his former Neople colleagues.
Project MC will be a slightly faster game in terms of combat in the MMO realm, while Nintendo games are currently the main source of research interest. This is to stay true to the combat found in both DNF and Cyphers.
Currently in development for around 16 months, Project MC will was originally scheduled to be finished in 24 months’ time. Like most games, it is of course delayed, partly due to having only 45 staff. Now at 40% completion, A.Storm is looking to hire more and aim for a test phase in early 2013 for Project MC.
The development team will also focus more on designing better gameplay rather than cranking out the best graphics. Unfortunately, only 2 artwork pieces are available now.
