Tencent Games’ answer to counter the incoming Diablo III China, Asura is a self-developed online game which has a storyline based on novel “Legend of Wukong”, which makes a dark twist to classic Journey to the West.
The 6th character revealed, the Dragonette represents the Dragon race (white horse in the original novel) and the speedy, stealthy assassin class. Yes, the 6th class, and it is only going into Open Beta on 12th December later this year. Blizzard, what the heck were you doing all these years?
This class plays not just as your standard assassin, but was also built around her inheritance of pure dragon blood. First, there is the Dragon humanoid form where she will be able to deal massive AOE damage. This form only lasts for a short while and has a long cool-down time.
Second, there is the berserker form. Every hit which lands on enemies will mark them with a seal. Once they are dead, the Dragonette will absorb blood energy from them. Upon reaching the max bar, this class will go into the berserker form, having increased movement and attack speed.
She is also able to use deplete this bar and use the dragon blood on enemies. While the affected targets gets damaged over time, their defense will rise as well. These are just some of the features for this class, and there are still the various class-based skills.
Once again, Asura will enter Open Beta on 12th December, with periodic Closed Beta phases taking place before then.
