It was announced earlier today that one of CJ Entertainment & Media top executives, Mr Whon Namkoong (below), had left the Korea’s biggest media company. Mr Whon was the Head of Games Business for the past 17 months, spearheading much of the division’s rapid progress in the industry. The main reason for leaving is due to the impending loss of the publishing rights for Sudden Attack Korea, one of the top games in the country. If you haven’t read, Sudden Attack’s developer GameHi was bought over by Nexon earlier. With Mr Whon’s departure and admission, it seems that talks to extend the publishing deal has broken down with GameHi and Nexon.
