This was a really weird week for me, mainly due to the fact I somehow got my hands on a leaked trailer for Diablo III’s Followers system and someone from Blizzard contacted me about it. Being a communications college student myself currently, I was left with a pretty bad taste on how Blizzard’s community representatives go about doing their work. Ok, I got a leaked video, you contacted me about it and I explained respectfully. I thought nothing was going to happen, until I found out the video was taken down.
My point is, can’t the Blizzard staff at least email me and say something like “Hey, the video you uploaded was actually leaked ahead of time, we will have to ask YouTube to close it. Sorry for the hassle, but good find, mate.” Ok, maybe I am too overly positive, but something along that line will do fine. It irks me such basic communication is not even there. No offence to Blizzard, but quite a few people told me how screwed up the PR department is over at the company.
I pre-ordered a little something for myself as well, I think this is the first boxed game I bought since my ill-fated purchase of FFXIV Collector’s Edition a few months back. Balls of Steel Edition… I am loving the game already!
I had a fun-filled weekend, staying at home “rushing assignments” and trying to figure out how am I going to spend my next month. More on that below. And then Dragon Ball Online came along. The Taiwan server went into VIP Beta and a nice industry guy I just knew provided me with a VIP Key. So as you guessed, my assignments remain untouched with a week left. Due to work, I missed the first day and the limited hours for the next 3 days kind of irritated me. But overall, Dragon Ball Online is a really awesome game. And to English publishers, the game has TONS of reasonable cash items which can be sold. Time to ask your guys to do some research, yo!
Ok, so I am technically free for the next month other than my classes. I have finally quit my job at my current workplace. Before I say more, I have one more week to go, hence I will type a little bit about the pros and cons next weekend. So why a month? I found a new job of course. The pay stayed almost the same, but the chance to start at a brand new MMO company and to implement some of my own systems is too attractive for me. Money and higher salary can always come in 1 or 2 years’ time as long as I have a platform to show my management skills and learn new things. I can’t wait to start work! So that’s all for the week, godspeed!
