I think I am 2 days behind this piece of news, but hey, there is just so much stuff one guy can do! Korean MMO company, Hanbitsoft, which bought the global rights from Namco Bandai in January last year, has finally announced Hellgate Global and revealed the teaser website and Facebook page. A little history, Hellgate was developed by Flagship Studios, founded by veterans from Blizzard Entertainment. Hellgate lunched to much fanfare, but the studio ultimately crumpled after the game met with tons of critical bugs and also due to financial issues.
Having bought a copy of the South East Asia server myself, Hellgate was a really awesome shooter (depending on class chosen) even in its single-player mode. The “dark” concept was really refreshing during that period of time as well. For those who didn’t know, it is about demons from hell invading Earth, and players are tasked to take them down. I am unsure how T3Fun, the Global English publisher is going to update the game up to the latest Tokyo patch, but I am really glad the game is finally revived. More information about the game can be found in my previous posts.
