Update: Upon clarification from Red 5 Studios’ Community Manager, Matt DeWald, Morpheme will be used to enhance Firefall’s graphics and animations, and not for any new MMO project/s. Red 5 Studios is currently only dedicated in improving Firefall now. I will like to thank Matt for pointing this out personally.
According to foreign reports, North American MMO developer, Red 5 Studios, has apparently purchased a new engine to develop their next title after revealing their maiden work, Firefall, not long ago. The new engine will be Morpheme, developed by NaturalMotion. The company also provided the graphics engine for EA Bioware’s upcoming MMO epic, Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Though not confirmed, it is said that Red 5 Studio’s next MMO title will be more on the cartoony side in terms of design. Firefall is developed using the company’s in-house engine. Do note that since Firefall has not even launched, there will be pretty much no information from here on.
