Well, it actually translates directly to Chronicle, or Archive, but the former sounds much cooler. Just to add on, the Closed Beta for the English server under Perfect World International will start on 27th October, and I am sure this will just be Part 1 of this CB Phase. I am out of words to put at the main page (you know, I need a certain number of words), so let’s move on to what this system does.
The Chronicle System will be the core engine to determine the various different events happening in different servers. In short, it will collect data from all players’ actions within the server and adjust some features accordingly. Information like how many daily quests are completed by the server, how many bosses or mobs are killed, how many players are killed and more will be processed to determine the outcome. Interesting? Below will be the hard-to-understand part.
Each server will be in “Chaos Mode” when first opened, meaning dark skies and a gloomy surrounding. Each server will also have a “Prayer Value”, and the points will increase as players pray for the gods’ blessings. For more on the Prayer System, click here. Once the server’s Prayer Value hits 100%, the skies will clear up and the Prayer System will officially be activated (I guess during Chaos Mode, clicking on the Prayer button at the top screen will not give players items, but just to accumulate the points).
But that’s not all! Once the server’s Prayer Value hits 100% again, the floating fortresses will appear in the skies for guilds to battle over! For more on floating fortresses, click here. Do note that some features and items, like the Guild Mounts, will only available if a Guild owns a floating fortress and upgrades the infrastructures. A must-have for all guilds!
In addition, each server will also have a “Karma Value”, determined by players’ act of kindness through quests. Players can opt to be a jerk when submitting certain quests! No explanation how will this value affect the server for now, but it will most probably be something awesome. More features and options will be added to this system in the future, so stay tuned!
