Taiwanese MMO developer and publisher, Gamania, certainly took the spotlight by revealing 8 new MMORPGs at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. As you might have noticed, almost all of the Free to Play MMOs in the show belong to Gamania, with several titles much anticipated by gamers (especially the few being converted from single player consoles).
Let us go through the games revealed and below, the games which I have not introduced:
1. Core Blaze
2. Langrisser Schwarz
3. Tiara Concerto
4. Phantom Brave
5. Divinia (see below)
6. Warrior of Dragon (see below)
7. Soul Captor (see below)
8. Reign of Assassins (see below)
Already in service in Japan and Hong Kong, Divinia is an anime-inspired MMORPG aimed primarily at the Japanese fans. The game boasts 2 well-known seiyuu voicing for the 2 main female characters, 3 pets (companion, mount and pocket) players can bring along on their journeys, a dual class system where players can switch even in the midst of battle (around 25 combinations) and even a web-based game linked to the core game where players can produce healing potions or even skill books!
Warrior of Dragon has as its background story, the merger of eastern and western myths and legends. Some initial features of the game include big-scale PvP battles, battles against the Gods and a indepth item growing production system.
A MMORPG inspired by eastern fantasy, including the designs for most of the monsters found in the game. The main feature will no doubt be the Spirit Pet which can fight alongside the players and of course, collect the souls of defeated monsters. Souls are then transferred to the Soul Handbook. Either the player or Spirit Pet can use the Souls collected to enhance their own talents and gain more powerful skills!
Finally, we take a look at perhaps the “biggest” MMORPG yet from Gamania, Reign of Assassins. The reason why I say it is the “biggest” is due to the fact that Reign of Assassins is based on the same titled movie famed director, John Woo. I had actually reported about the game a few months back. So far, not much information is revealed yet, but the game promises several unique classes (seen in the trailer below), including a Black Magician and Puppeteer.
And Gamania is not slacking on its efforts to promote Reign of Assassin,s they even got John Woo and the leading lady of the movie to grace Tokyo Game Show 201!
