WG Cells – World of Tanks studio shuts down mobile games division

Wargaming, the developer of World of Tanks, has confirmed WG Cells‘ closure in a statement to Gamasutra with over 60 job losses. Founded in 2013 as Dropforge, it received full funding from Wargaming to act as the company’s experimental division in the mobile games market. In 2015, DropForge was renamed as WG Cells. World of Tanks Blitz, an in-house mobile game, is not affected.
