There seems to be a huge wave of Diablo-like MMORPGs nowadays, spanning from Korea, China to North America. Some recent titles include Path of Exile, Mythos and Magic World Online 2. Asura is somewhat inspired by Diablo as well, developed by China’s biggest online gaming company, Tencent Games.
Basically, there are currently 3 classes announced, loosely translated as Bull Demon, Spirit Monkey and Rosha. New trailers were posted recently, showcasing the skills of each individual class. As you can see from the classes, the designs were also partially referenced from the characters in Journey to the West.
There is currently no scheduled release date for the game in China, but it is reported to be the 2nd half of this year. A confirmed timing will apparently be announced at one of Tencent Games’ regular events on 15th April, which is less than 1 week from now.
